The Lok Sabha MP Dr.Thokchom Meinya drew the attention of the Union Minister of Railways Lalu Prasad Yadav for giving his personal supervision for timely completion of the Jiribam-Tupul Rail Line within the stipulated time, that is, by 2010.Participating at the discussion on Demands for Excess Grants (Railways) for the year 2004-05 and the Supplementary Demands for Grants (Railways) for the year 2006-07 in the Lok Sabha yesterday, Dr.Meinya said Manipur had no rail line till then, but would have a rail line by 2010.He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, the UPA Chairman and the Railway Minister for laying the foundation stone of the first ever railhead at Jiribam for the Jiribam-Tupul (Imphal) Rail Line in 2004.He reminded that it was a national project targeted for completion by 2010.
