All Manipur United Clubs Organization (AMUCO) observed the "7th Integrity day" by organizing a simple but impressive function at Manipur Dramatic Union Hall, Yaiskul today.
The function was attended by members of various voluntary organizations and Lups of the State.
Leaders of various organizations who spoke on the occasion mainly focused on the prevailing situation in the State and the dreaded Armed Forces Special Powers Act.
Even though no resolution was taken at the function, the members present unanimously shouted for removal of AFSPA from the State at the end of the function.
Prior to the main function at MDU, members who participated at the function visited Kangjeibung and paid floral tributes at the Integrity Pillar located there.
AMUCO president Jagat Thoudam said that UNC president Benjamin Anal, noted writer MK Binodini, United Khurmi National Council president Seikam Kipgen, Hao Khunai Inat Thousil Lup president V Soujou Mao, Zeliangrong Union Imphal zone president Rongmei Chandra, AMUCO adviser Th Jboyaima, AZACO secy gen Lanboi Kabui, social worker Riyazuddin Choudury, Meekol president Janaki, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur president Memchoubi and UPF president Jadumani attended the funtion as at the presidium members.
Meanwhile, the "7th Integrity Day" was also observed at Yairipok Singda today as a mark of tribute to Md Jamauddin and Md Nur Rahaman who died while participating at the "Integrity Day rally" in 1997.The function was jointly organized by AMUCO, Yairipok Singda Development Association and Kangleipak Muslim Chanura Development Organization.
