Two extortionists who demanded Rs 50,000 in the name of the Kuki National Front (Zougam) through a blank paper were awarded capital punishment by UNLF.
Of the two slain extortionists, one was said to be a drug abuser.
Before the extortionists were eliminated, they were paraded before media persons somewhere at Sekmai today afternoon.
A spokesperson of the UNLF disclosed that the duo was apprehended while demanding Rs 50,000 from one individual at Sagolband Meino Leirak.
The slain extortionists are identified as Salam Jack alias Sidharth (28) of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai and Oinam Abungcha alias Surjakumar (29) of Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai.
Disclosing that Jack was arrested three months back for tablet and No 4 abuse and peddling, the spokesperson conveyed that the duo was sent by Rome and Shanta currently in jail in connection with the murder Lungnila Elizabeth to collect the money.
The duo arrested by the Central Special Force of the outfit was supposed to take the money to Rome and Shanta in jail, said the spokesperson.
It is said that Rome affected release of Jack from jail.
Both Jack and Abungcha confessed the crimes they committed.
