A massive public meeting organized by Manipurgi Ngamkhei kanba Lup (NH-53) (MANKAL) under the aegis of UCM was held today at Moidangpok where over 5000 persons attended.
Many prominent leaders of UCM and MANKAL made speeches on the indispensable cordial relationship amongst the people living in the State to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The leaders stressed oil the need for peaceful co-existence and lead the State into a new era of harmony and development.
Members of Meitei, Kabui Kuki and Nepali communities took part in the meeting.
The meeting also unanimously resolved to intimate the Indian Government for the amendment of Article 3 of the Indian Constitution to preserve the boundary of Manipur.
Removal of Armed Forces Special Power Act was also mooted at the meeting.
The other resolutions include maintaining communal harmony at all cost, support to UCM in future agitations and release of arrested student leaders immediately without arid conditions.
Similar meeting organized by the Manipur Peace and Integrity Council, Imphal East held at Lizard Library unanimously resolved to continue the struggle under the aegis of UCM, for safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur until and unless a clear cut picture on the withdrawal of ceasefire extension from Manipur is available.
Other resolutions include pressurizing the State and Central Government for amendment of Article 3 of the Indian Constitution to protect the existing boundary of Manipur.
The meet also pledged for restoring the peaceful co-existence amongst the various community.
