The Naga Students� Federation (NSF) has called a 24-hr complete bandh in Naga inhabited areas from six am on August 3 to protest the Centre�s decision to restrict the ceasefire within Nagaland only.
The Coordination Committee formed by NGOs and Dimapur Naga Students� Union (DNSU) would be organizing a protest rally at Dimapur on the same day.
The students union in a statement asked all shops and business establishments to remain closed on the day.
Meanwhile Our Chandel Correspondent reports that the 72-hr bandh called by Naga Youth Federation (NYF) severely affected the normal life in the four hill districts of Manipur.
Almost all the shops in and around Chandel district remained closed and there is no inter-district bus services and vehicular traffic.
Imphal-Moreh bus services are also reportedly suspended.
Educational institutions, medical, water, electricity, army, paramilitary and police were exempted.
MR personnel were deployed to prevent untoward incidents.
Meanwhile two bodies called Finance Section Core Committee and Relief Committee for Displaced Persons for Imphal were constituted today at the office of the Chandel Naga People�s Organization, Chandel.
Police said in Imphal that the bandh was total in Ukhrul.
However, the bandh was relaxed for a few hours to enable the public get their essentials, police said.
In Senapati district the bandh was relaxed for two hours in the evening while the response to the bandh was total.
The bandh also affected normal life in Tamenglong.
