Incidentally, KRA is a par-ty to the tripartite SoO agree- ment involving the Central Government and the Government of Manipur.
Three youngsters were in the process of extorting mo-ney from travellers at Taphou Kuki village along NH-2 in Senapati district when they were overpowered by KRA cadres at around 3.27 am today.
One country made pistol, a knife and two wallets containing Rs 2090 in cash were recovered from the highway robbers.
The three miscreants have been identified as J Paodii (26) s/o Jacob, Khopule (26) s/o Khole and S Dilpulou (21) s/o Sounii.
All of them belong to Taphou Phyamai.
KI-SH president Seimang Khongsai said that they intervened in time and took custody of the three custody lest KRA cadres beat them up which may result in untoward incidents.
Later, NPO leaders were called and handed the three miscreants to them.
At the time of handing over the miscreants, KI-SH and NPO signed an understanding.
On behalf of NPO, the agreement was signed by president ML Markson and general secretary Moses Kamba while KI-SH was represented by president Seimang Haokip and general secretary N Sehjalien Gangte.
The basic point of the agreement was peaceful co-existence and mutual cooperation.
Noting that Taphou has been a popular hunting ground for anti-social elements, the two sides came to some sort of understanding to check criminal activities in Taphou collectively.
