The villagers accusing the police team of harassing Sora village women and children taking advantage of the men folk gathered at the village mosque for their daily Namaz (prayer) reportedly had a heated exchange of words with the police team at Kakching Lamkhai.
On their way back, the Sora villagers heard a shot resulting in Niamuddin, who was riding in the back of a 407 truck, falling down on the road after being hit by a bullet, claimed Benjamin Shaha.
Expressing strong resentment that no action has been taken till date against the accused police personnel inspite of memorandums submitted to the then Governor, Chief Minister, Home Minister, DGP, SP concerned as well as National Human Rights Commission by the JAC formed in connection with the young boys death, he said in pursuit of justice the Front would resort to various form of agitation.
