Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West has remanded two persons who were arrested on the charge of uploading sexually explicit content on a Facebook page and a WhatsApp group to judicial custody and ordered to release three other accused on their execution of Rs 50,000 PR bond and surety of the same amount before the Court.
The accused Victor Sorokhaibam @ Ngongo (28) of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai; Khuraijam Surjakumar @ Dhoko (28), of Singjamei Chinga Makha; Konjengbam Arunkumar @ Franky @ Bulbul (29) of Kwakeithel Lamdong Leikai; Soibam Singhajit (28) of Singda Karang Part-I and Oinam Nanao (33) of Top Moirang Kampu were produced before the Court after the completion of police custody period along with a prayer for remanding them to judicial custody.

The IO of the case through APP submitted that a mother of one of the victims lodged a complaint before Officer in Charge Imphal Police Station, stating that her daughter's photos were uploaded on a Facebook page created by one Yumnam Piba with indecent captions on May 22 .
Saying that the unknown administrator, whose identity and whereabouts could not be traced yet, seems to be handling the Facebook page, probably from another country, the IO added that a hunt is already on to nab the administrator.
The IO also submitted that arresting other active members of the Facebook page and the Whatsapp group is crucial to stop these 'filthy activities' and prevent more from joining the indecent Facebook page and WhatsApp group.
The Court after hearing both parties and on perusal of the case record remanded Victor Sorokhaibam and Khuraijam Surjakumar to judicial custody and directed to release Konjengbam Arunkumar, Soibam Singhajit and Oinam Nanao on bail.
