Many doff hat to mothers on Mother's Day

Kangpokpi joined the world in commemorating mothers as well as motherhood on the occasion of Mother's Day to show appreciation, respect and love towards mothers today.
Likewise the day was also observed at Meitei Baptist Church, Yairipok in Thoubal district while at Kakching the day was organised by Library and Information Centre as a Special Sunday (200th episode).
At Kakching about 300 students took part in the day along with popular actor Tonthoi.
On the occasion, four mothers were given financial assistance and a memento each.
The four mothers feted were Mayanglambam Thanil Devi, Naorem Achoubi Devi, Ksh Leikham Devi and Yengkhom Muhini Devi.
The celebration of Mother's Day in Kangpokpi District started from yesterday in some educational institutions.
The celebration of Mother's Day today in the district HQs was witnessed in different ways.
While some individually celebrated the occasion, a special program for all mothers was organized by Churches, some in the morning service and others in the evening service.
Interestingly, children whose Mother had already left for the heavenly abode visited the tomb of their mothers at Kangpokpi cemetery and laid bouquets of flowers to show appreciation, respect and love.
Men society and youth of Kangpokpi Christian Church, Kangpokpi DHQs organized a special Mother's Day celebration program this evening in the Church where fathers and children greeted all the mothers who came to attend the program in front of the main door of the Church.
Later, during the celebration function, a condolence service was held in honour of the departed mothers of the Church led by Pastor J Lunkim and a minute silence was observed in honour of the departed mothers.
Wives of deceased Deacons of the Church were presented one shawl each while all mothers who attended the celebration were presented with humble gifts by KCU and KCK while a complimentary word was pronounced before the mass blessing prayer for all mothers of the Church was conducted.
Meanwhile, KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi also organized a special service in connection with Mother's Day celebration at the Church this morning where mothers were adorably presented gifts as a mark of honour and appreciation.
Some children were spotted taking their mothers to hotels and offering them sweets, tea, etc.
so as to say Thank You while some took the advantage of social media and conveyed their sincere appreciation and honour to their mother.
"To honour and appreciate mother on Mother's Day on the part of the children is well appreciated and it will be more appreciated if they could honour and appreciate them everyday", commented one leader while another youth appealed those who have their mother till today, "To honour and appreciate them while they are physically with them, so that they will not regret after their mothers pass away" .
