Association appeals for holding viva-voce

All Manipur Education (S) Office Assistant Successful Candidates and Guardians Association has appealed to the State Government to conduct viva-voce for the recruitment, which was kept on hold on account of the election code of conduct for the 11th Assembly election.
Making the appeal during a press conference held at Manipur Press Club here today, chairman of the association, W Ibungochoubi recalled that advertisement for recruitment to 276 vacant posts of Office Assistant for Education (S) was published in June last year and more than 19,000 candidates applied for the posts.
He said that written test for the recruitment was conducted in October last year of which the results was declared on November 23.Typing test for the 476 successful candidates was held on November 27 but viva-voce of the recruitment was kept on hold by the previous Government citing the imposition of election code of conduct for the 11th Assembly election, he said.
Ibungochoubi said that the association is looking forward to submit a memorandum to Chief Minister N Biren on People's Day tomorrow to urge him to declare the results at the earliest.
He added that the association would take up necessary steps according to the response of the Chief Minister.
