Imphal, December 07:
Endorsing the indefinite bandh imposed at Kasom Khullen sub-division by the Kasom Khullen Development Committee, former secretary of the South Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association, Rev SP Mahapang has urged the State Govt to look into the grievances of the people and settle the matter at the earliest in view of the upcoming Christmas festival.
The Committee has imposed the indefinite bandh in the sub-division demanding basic infrastructure, including restoration of power supply, inauguration of Primary Health Centre, installation of a new power sub-station and proper maintenance of Imphal-Kasom Khullen road.
If the Government continues to turn a deaf ear to the demands of the people, then it will greatly inconvenience the people during the Christmas festival, which is the biggest festival of the Christians, he said.
The Reverend further said that a big Church meeting is scheduled to be held at Kasom Khullen Church on December 10 and if the bandh continues then it may stop the delegates from attending the meeting.
