The police has today submitted before the Manipur Human Rights Commission that the vaginal swab of the minor girl who was allegedly raped has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory, Pangei, while the penile washing of the accused has also been submitted to the same laboratory for necessary examination and expert comments.
The report of the police followed an earlier submission to the rights panel that the police had taken up a case in connection with the alleged rape of a six year old child by a youth at Khangabok Part 1 on October 11.The submission was made on October 13.After going through the report, MHRC had asked the DGP on October 14 to furnish the progress report of the investigation into the case.
In its latest submission to the rights panel, the police said that the investigating officer has closely studied the place where the alleged rape took place.
The accused was taken into custody and during interrogation, he denied raping the minor girl, though he did admit that he tried to rape the child, police said.
The child, along with the accused, was examined by a medico-legal expert cum police surgeon at Lilong PHC.
The doctor had opined that there were no signs of vaginal penetration and it could not be ascertained whether sexual intercourse took place or not.
