UCM petitions CM on 'quit notice' reminder Bogus crusaders at it again !

Despite expressing scepticism on the authenticity of the group involved in serving a reminder on the 'quit notice' to Meiteis staying in the hill districts, the United Committee Manipur (UCM) has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister to take all possible precautionary measures to maintain peace and normalcy in the State.
Speaking to newspersons today UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar said leaflets of the Naga Crusaders warning of 'unfortunate eventuality' against the Meiteis residing/staying in the Naga/hill districts were distributed in the darkness in North AOC areas.
Ultimatum of the Naga Crusaders was published in the Nagaland Post daily last month whereby Meiteis were asked to leave the hill districts within July 10 .
The leaflet maintained that the quit notice to the Meiteis is without any ulterior motive but is an inevitable step as a pre-emptive measure to root out the Meitei militants and their sympathisers infested in the hill districts of Manipur who are hellbent and prepared to attack the Naga civilians in the event of any eventuality between the communal State Government of Manipur and the Nagas.
The quit notice which was also found tucked into the doors of the inter-State bus counters at North AOC carried no signature and was printed on a plain paper.
There was nothing official about it.
Reacting to the contents, Dilipkumar opined that the reminder notice seems to be an attempt to create divisions between different communities settled together for ages.
Recounting that armed as well as civil organisations of the Nagas had already clarified that Naga Crusaders seem to be a fictitious group trying to create a chaotic and confusing environment in the society, he prevailed upon all concerned to exercise maximum restraint and work for strengthening the fraternal bond of the ethnic communities.
Meanwhile, the UCM memorandum pointed out to the CM that NSCN (IM), NSCN (K), NNC and UNC had reacted sharply to the Naga Crusaders' adventurism as the misdeeds of some miscreants, it said 'reading between the lines of the leaflets published by the Naga Crusaders on July 6, 2011 it is very clear that they are toeing the line of the counter insurgency operations of the Indian security forces operating in the Manipur theatre.
The Government of Manipur should inform Ministry of Home Affairs to appraise the matter as their are under peace process with the so-called Naga underground groups since August 1, 1997, the memo maintained.
While highlighting that UCM stands for the peaceful co-existence of the indigenous people of Manipur, it also asserted that UCM will not remain as a silent spectator against any threat to the people.
