In a significant development, ahead of the next Assembly election, likely to be held in February next year, a number of organisations based in Ukhrul district headquarters met the sitting MLA, Danny Shaiza on July 4 and had a brain storming session with regard to the next poll.
All the Hunphun Tang Chairman Association (ATHCA) representing twenty seven (27) localities of Hunphun met Danny Shaiza at his Nagaram residence on July 4 morning and had a detailed discussion concerning various developmental programmes like MGNRES in the district headquarter and its problems and difficulties.
The president of AHTCA, Akan Raleng on the side-lines of the meeting told The Sangai Express that the people of Ukhrul district headquarters continue to face a lot of difficulty particularly MGNRES wages in view of the needless interferences from different quarters.
Many chairmen also spoke of the difficulties they face with regard to developmental programmes.
Danny Shaiza after silently listening to all their petitions assured them (AHTCA) that he in his capacity as the MLA will ensure that their grievances are addressed.
Earlier in the morning a feast was held in honour of all the chairmen who came from Ukhrul to Imphal to meet him.
Altogether 26 representatives from AHTCA met the MLA.
