Forest Minister visits Noney DHQs

Noney, June 04 2021:
Forest, Environment & Climate Change Minister, Awangbow Newmai visited Noney District HQs to assess the COVID-19 situation in the district today.
The Minister also convened a meeting with the DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayum along with the health officials and public leaders at the premises of COVID Care Centre at Tengkongjang Hr Sec School, Longmai Part 3, Noney.
He also visited Noney PHC and Haochong PHC to encourage the Covid warriors and listen to their grievances.
During his visit, the Minister handed over 3 oxygen concentrators, 3 D Type Oxygen cylinders, face masks, hand gloves, sanitizers, oximeters and Rs 1 lakh to District CCC Tengkonjang Noney.
He also handed over a monetary aid of Rs 50,000, 2 oxygen concentrators and other medical equipment to Haochong PHC.
Besides, face masks, sanitizers, hand gloves were also handed over for the volunteers of Noney DHQs, Haochong and media fraternities.

Speaking on the sideline of the visit, Awangbow Newmai extended his gratitude to the frontline Covid warriors for their tireless effort during the pandemic even with the lack of manpower.
The Minister assured the District Administration and the District Task Force that every possible assistance from the Government would be extended in consultation with the Chief Minister.
He also appealed to the public to maintain COVID-19 SOPs and to come forward for COVID vaccination.
The Minister also visited Haochong Government High School and met wit the Office incharge of the Assam Rifles stationed there to discuss the relocation of the troops stationed at the school to other alternative locations after the COVID-19 situation comes under control.
The village leaders of Noney and Haochong extended a warm welcome and appreciated the Minister for his concern and care for the people especially during the pandemic.
It may be mentioned that the Minister was accompanied by Namsinrei Panmei, Acting chairman, ADC Tamenglong and other former ADC members.
