Imphal, June 04 2021:
The Communist Party of India (CPI) calls upon its members and party units to protest against rising petrol and diesel prices across the country.
A press release issued by the National Secretariat of the CPI today stated that in the corona hit economy the exorbitant rise in petrol and diesel prices is causing great hardships to common people as it has a cascading effect on prices of all other commodities.
Further it alleged that it is pandemic profit making and looting the people where the Central Government is allowing the oil marketing companies to have absolute autonomy to fix the fuel prices not taking into consideration the international prices.
The Party demands that the Government should intervene and take appropriate measures to reduce the prices and give relief to the people.
