Personnel of Imphal East district police station retrieved two bodies bearing gunshot wounds from Tinsid Chingkhong area near Yaralpat under Imphal East district.
According to police source, the two, suspected to be security force personnel, were shot dead yesterday midnight by unidentified gunmen.
The police personnel on receipt of information at around 6.30 am rushed to the spot and recovered the two bodies bearing bullet marks on the head.
Even though police could not trace any projectiles from the spot a piece of paper inscribed AC Barman was found near the bodies along with a blanket, watch, jacket with a label CHM 200.Both the bodies have been deposited at the RIMS morgue for identification and necessary medical procedure.
Of the two one is well-built, dark complexioned, looked to be below 30 years, attired in a white-grey striped full shirt and short hair, jean pants and a handkerchief used as a scarf.
He donned a trimmed moustache and his ear lobes were not pierced.
The other man with sharp features was frail; fair complexioned, earlobes intact with bushy moustache.
He wore a sky blue-colored full shirt and blue pant.
Later in the evening, at the RIMS morgue, a man suspected to be security personnel unofficially identified one of the slain person as Amin.
The man who spoke fluent Manipuri declined any further comment when he was approached for further details.
