Rishang: punish them if they defy Govt order

Speaking at a reception function held at Serou bazar yesterday Chief Minister O Ibobi described Serou as a beautiful garland having different colours, where people following different faiths are residing.
Mr Ibobi, Mr Rishang Keishing MP and six other Ministers were received with a sir pie function held at Serou bazar.
Local people brought vegetables and fruits and put them before the VVIPs.
Cultural items were presented as a mark of respect to the VVIPs.
Receiving various memoranda and complaints from the local people Chief Minister assured to look into their demands.
He regretted that the health centre at Sugnu despite upgradation has ceased to function as a full-fledged centre and the same building is remaining as cowshed.
Doctors are refusing to go to the centre though two of them have been sent to the centre.
The matter will be looked into, he assured.
He also said a gynaecologist, a paediatrician and general surgeon are required for the centre.
He also appealed to the people not to harass Doctors.
Instead of harassing Doctors the complaint if any should be lodged with the local MLA and the matter can be taken up.
The Govt has taken up a plan to construct a bridge over Manipur River to make Serou approachable by road.
The people of Serou use boat, as there is no road connecting the area with the main road.
He also said fund has been earmarked for constructing the bridge.
Speaking on the occasion the President of the function Mr Rishang Keishing described Serou as a place for all people.
What we can see in Nepal, in Bengal and Darjeeling is seen here, he said.
He was referring to the huge crowd gathered at the reception site consisting of Nepalis, Bengalis, and Muslims etc.
People of Serou consider themselves as belonging to a different land because when they sing they praise Serou only, he said adding that the Govt should everything possible to end the isolation felt by the people.
Mentioning they belong to Manipur, he said "if you do not consider yourselves as Manipuris I will shun you, because the entire Manipur is my constituency�.
He ridiculed the Chief Minister's assertion of Doctors refusing to go to health centre and said they are paid to do their work.
Punish them if they defy the Govt order, he added.
He was of the view that the Govt needs to do a lot to discipline the Govt employees.
The Govt should provide equal treatment to both city and rural areas of the state.
Nature has given everything to Manipur.
