Senapati, September 30 2016:
Decrying the State Government's apathy over the issue of non release of pay and regularization till date since appointment in 2011, the ADC contract basis appointed Teacher's Association has announced that the ongoing indefinite economic blockade will continue in an intensified manner.
Addressing the media today, the contract basis ADC teachers said that the blockade will continue and warned against undermining their legitimate appointment.
Till today, since the deadline of September 26 was issued and subsequent launching of the blockade along NH-2, the State Govt remained indifferent the teachers alleged.
"We will form parents and guardians association to pursue the issue," they added.
While warning that the stir will be intensified if their grievances are not addressed to at the earliest, the association also slammed the statement of TA/Hills Commissioner T Pamei who informed that the appointment has been declared null and void by the department concerned.
The association questioned the Government as to why it took more than six years since 2011 to detect the flaws and declare their appoints null and void now putting the career of the candidates in jeopardy.
It was to address the acute shortage of teachers in ADC primary schools and the urgent need to fill those newly created 27 primary schools, that the recruitment process of 136 teachers was initiated by the 2010 elected ADC administration.
However after six years of appeal and repeated request to pay the salaries and regularize their service the recent decision to declare the appointment as null and void is shocking and unacceptable, noted the association.
It justified the agitation stating that left with no options due to a non-responsive Government the association launched the blockade to demonstrate their struggle and suffering.
It aslo questioned why the TA/Hills Department declared their appointment null and void without consulting the 2010 ADC administration and candidates.
