Inter-school meet held

The 1st Keithelmanbi Military Colony Inter-School Meet held at Brig Sirohi Ground, Keithelmanbi concluded today, our correspondent reports.
MLA Nemcha Kipgen who attended the closing event as chief guest motivated the students of Keithelmanbi Military Colony, Kangpokpi and urged them to honor and obey their parents.
She said discipline is one key factor to become a respectable person.
While encouraging the children to promote education at the maximum, the lady MLA also urged the children to choose games and sports as a career option.
ADC Sadar Hills Member Milan Pradhan and local MDC Lamminthang Kipgen attended the function as guest of honour and president respectively.
The Inter-School Meet was organised by Keithelmanbi Youth Association on the theme "Unite to excel".
T Manihar Singh, ADC, Kangpokpi, on behalf of Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, inaugurated the school meet yesterday in the presence of Khuplen Lhouvum, Addl SP Kangpokpi, who also attended on behalf of SP Senapati.
Debate, quiz, poetry recitation competition, elocution, etc, were held under Group category while balloon bursting, 100 metres race and spoon race were conducted under individual category.
Altogether, 6 schools within the vicinity of Keithelmanbi took part in the school meet.
Brighter English School bagged the overall Champion and Best Discipline team award while Winter Green Ideal School bagged the most promising team of the event.
Winners of group and individual competition in each category were awarded certificate of appreciation.
