Repair roads leading to Gwarok Mahadeva: KIPC

Kekru Ideal Proares sive Committee (KIPC) has urged Chief Minister N Biren and his government to repair all the roads leading to-the sacred site of Gwarok Mahade -va (Nongpok Taarang Saraba/ Nongpok Ching U Pangan ba) at Gwarok Ching in Kekru Khul, Thoubal District.
The annual Phairen Paan chamani ritual, performed on the 5th of the month of Phairen since time immemorial, was conducted at the shrine of Gwarok Mahadeva on Thursday.
Thousands of devotees from across and outside Manipur offered prayers at the shrine, as part of the ritual.
In this regard, KIPC president Soraisham Kanhai recalled that the new shrine was inaugurated by CM Biren in January 2018.The site was developed jointly by Tour ism Department as part of eco -tourism.
However, the number of devotees visiting the shrine has increased expo nentially and as such, the roads leading to the shrine already in poor condition, can no longer keep up with the movements.
Thus, he urgedfor repairing the roads and help in further beautifying the shrine,
KIPC secretary Laishram Somorendro informed that the number of devotees visiting the shrine is far higher compared to previous years.
As such, KIPC appreciated the locals clubs of Kekru .village, SP Thoubal, Kekru Primary Health Sub Centre and others who extended their assistance in maintaining the crowd.
