75.67 pass pc in Class XII

Imphal, May 29 2011:
A slight drop from the previous academic year, but overall much better than the results in 2077, 2008 and 2009, a total of 17014 candidates out of a total of 22483 who appeared in the examination passed the Class XII examination accounting for 75.67 pass percentage, result of which was announced by the Council of Higher Secondary Examination today.
This is slightly lower than the 76.47 pass percentage recorded in 2010, but is much better than off than the results of 2007, 2008 and 2009, where the pass percentage was respectively 56.66, 65.70 and 67.54 .
In the Science stream, though the first position went to a student from Human Resource Academy, Heikrujam Prasanjeet, the lion's share went to Herbert School, which had ten of its students finding a place in the top 20 positions.
Human Resource Academy bagged 4 positions in the top 20, while Millennium Institute of Sciences surpassed expectations with 4 of its students making the top 20 cut.
Another notable performer was Temple of Learning which bagged the third position.
Two other students from this institute made it to the top 20 .
In the Arts stream, the honours were shared among Don Bosco, Maram, Enlighten Knowledge (EK) Higher Secondary School, and TG Higher Secondary School.
The first position went to a student from TG, Vijaya Sanasam followed by Loveson Gangmei from EKHS and Yumkhaibam Noren Singh from EK again.
However it was Don Bosco, Maram, which bagged the lion's share in the top 20, with 12 of its students making the cut while Ek and TG had three students each.
Thirty girls made it to the top 20 , compared to 10 boys who made the cut.
In Commerce stream, Mebidita Chirom of SDJM Hr Secondary School bagged the first position.
Three students from SDJM made it to the top five, while two students from CC Higher Secondary School were in the top five list.
