NPF gears up for ADC poll

Gearing up for the upcoming ADC election, the Naga Peoples Front (NPF) has reiterated that it would fight the elections for the rights of the tribal people in letter and spirit.
During the one day NPF political awareness campaign held today at Nungbi Khullen, Ukhrul district, leaders of the State NPF unit stressed on the urgent need to achieve political unity to fulfill the common aspiration of the Nagas.
For realisation of this aspiration, the ensuing ADC polls are going to be very crucial specially for the Nagas of Manipur.
They also stressed on the need to strengthen NPF, the only political platform of the minority group to raise voice and issues of their concern at the central level.
The NPF also accused the BJP Government of fomenting trouble against the minority groups particularly Christian community.
The NPF decried that Hindu radical groups raised their heads under the Modi Government and began targeting minorities.
Meanwhile, NPF MLA Samuel Risom hailed the State Govt for its decision to hold the ADC elections in time.
At the same time, he slammed the State Govt for their alleged corrupt and deficit governance.
He added that the MRVT&MW Bill which was passed in the Assembly was incompetent to protect indigenous people from influx of migrants.
The NPF leader also accused the SPF Government of misusing ADC fund and failing to maintain law and order in the State.
The State NPF president Awangbou Newmai urged people of Chingai AC to support NPF.
Solidarity speeches from unit leaders like MH Moon, M Isaac, Sorin, Paul Muinao and Wungnaoshang marked the campaign.
Many aspiring candidates of the NPF for the ensuing ADC polls attended the campaign.
