Imphal, April 17 2011:
Even though a memorandum had been submitted to the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh airing their grievances, the Havildar & Constable Radio Telephone Operator (CRTO) DPC Faced Candidates' Association has set April 25 to launch agitation in case their plight is not addressed at the earliest.
At a media briefing held today at Mahabali Kabui community hall today, Association spokesperson Th Bikram said after completion of relevant preliminary processes viva voce for recruitment of 71 Havildars and 93 CRTOs was conducted in April and May months of 2010 .
An official notification for the recruitment was reportedly issued in July 2008 based on which 268 candidates faced the viva voce for the post of Havildar with another 220 candidates undertaking the rigours for the CRTO posts.
While informing that a representation had been submitted to the Chief Minister for declaring the viva voce result, the Association spokesperson expressed strong resentment that such an inordinate delay is a cause of concern for the candidates as there is strong apprehension of their careers being ruined.
Further regretting that inspite of the issue being raised by MLA RK anand at the floor of the Manipur Legislative Assembly and the CM himself assuring that the pending viva voce result would be announced the assurance is yet to be translated into action, Bikram also pondered as to what is constraining the State Government or the Home department from declaring the said result.
He also noted that training of police drivers, IRB personnel, MR riflemen, VDF as well as female ASIs and SIs have either commenced or have been deployed for duty contrary to the fact that notification for these recruitment were issued long after the same process for the havildars and CRTOs.
adding to the mental stress of these security force aspirants is the recent notification for recruitment of SIs, ASIs and Jamadars, he expressed while prevailing upon the CM to ensure that the viva voce result be declared within April 25 in order to prevent the candidates from going ahead with the agitation movement.
Bikram further informed that a fresh memorandum on the same issue has been submitted to the CM this evening.
