Imphal, August 08 2011:
Robbed of her modesty by some people who came looking for her husband and disowned by her own husband on alleged charge of spending one night with other men, a 25-year old woman and mother of four children has knocked at the door of CJM Thoubal for justice.
An arrest warrant has been issued against the accused by the Court.
Talking to mediapersons in this connection today, the victim Sweta (name changed) (25) w/o Md Salim of Lilong bazar recalled that on July 28, at around 4 pm, she was returning home from a visit to her maternal place, when some members of Anjuman Islamia Maoshara (AIM), an organisation of the Mouluvis set up to fight against drug abuse and trafficking, came to the house looking for her husband charging that he has been selling and abusing drugs.
When the intruders searched her hand bag, a box of tablets, of which she knew nothing about, fell from it.
So, she called up her husband over the mobile phone and allowed the intruders to talk with him.
Her husband clarified that she is innocent and would return home soon after attending his friend's marriage ceremony for further talks.

But the intruding members of AIM forcibly dragged her inside a van and after blindfolding and binding her hands, took her to the office of AIM at Lilong Turel Ahanbi where they assaulted and outraged her modesty.
They also took her to 2/3 other houses the same night.
After she was freed at around 3 pm of the following day, her relatives took Sweta (name changed) to the rural Hospital and Research Institute at Lilong Lamkhai for medical treatment.
From there she was subsequently referred to RIMS Hospital, Lamphelpat.
However, after this incident, her husband has refused to accept her and threw her out of their house on the charge that she had spent one night with other men.
On behalf of Sweta (name changed), her mother Sameena (name changed) has filed a petition before CJM Court, Thoubal seeking justice.
Sweta (name changed) is a mother of four children, one girl and three boys.
