AR guns down UNLF cadre

Troops of 18 Sikh of 9 Sector Assam Rifles reportedly gunned down a top UNLF cadre in the early hours today.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, the 18 Sikh troops, discovering presence of armed UG activists, launched operation at Kamong Loyalakpa Bazar and at around 0035 hours today noticed an individual running out of a house.
When challenged to stop the individual started indiscriminate firing towards the troops, who responded immediately resulting in the elimination of the individual who was later identified as (No.356) S/S Capt Yengkhom Suresh alias Ingobi alias Inaobi s/o Y Sharad Kumar of Mayang Imphal Kokchai Makha Leikai.
Stating that Suresh was UNLF's Bishnupur district Secretary, the PRO listed one 9 mm pistol with magazine and 11 live rounds as items recovered from the slain person whose body along with the recoveries have been handed over to Nambol police station.
Meanwhile, a police source quoting Army report said while 36-year old Y Suresh alias Satyaban died on the spot another UG suspect managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
On the other hand, when a team of media reached the site of incident a white coloured cloth used normally by ladies was found near the spot where Suresh was reportedly gunned down.
Apart from signs of narrow digging at the spot locals claimed to have heard nearly 20 rounds gun-shots.
