Imphal, April 04 2016:
While expressing keen desire for BJP and NPF to put up a united front against ruling Congress party in Manipur, NPF Manipur State unit has sought intervention of BJP president Amit Shah.
According to a representation sent to Amit Shah which was signed by NPF Manipur State unit president Awangbow Newmai and NPF legislature wing leader L Dikho, some leaders of BJP Manipur Pradesh have not been extending cooperation to NPF in any manner.
Their high handedness is creating a negative image for the Opposition in the minds of the people.
Further, the Manipur BJP leadership are also learned to have been campaigning with promises of contract works in the name of Union Ministers and Central Party leaders.
That's why the ruling Congress party and the people in Manipur term Manipur State Unit of BJP as active agents for de-sanctioning Manipur projects and postponing tenders.
The objective of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide corruption free and transparent governance is being hijacked by some leaders of the party.
Because of the present leadership, the party has distanced itself from other parties specially NPF, it said.
It pointed out that the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), where BJP and NPF are partners, has BJP members in the Cabinet and the Council of Parliamentary Secretaries.
But in Manipur, the party is deviating from the principles of a united Opposition against the Congress Government.
Unless this trend is corrected and rectified, both NPF and BJP will succumb to the games being played by the Congress, and thereby, "our collective aim of wiping out the Congress will only remain a wish", the NPF Manipur State unit continued.
Manipur has had three Congress led Governments in a row.
The party has been consolidating using all available resources and advantages of a ruling Government, it asserted.
It urged Amit Shah to prevail upon his party leaders in Manipur in the greater interest of the people of Manipur and in the interest of defeating the Congress with a collective effort.
