Imphal, June 29:
Announcing that it would soon launch a series of intense agitation against the truce extension to Manipur, the Manipuri Students Federation today asked Governor Ved Marwah to leave the State immediately.
The sixty MLAs were also asked to leave the State immediately.
Going on the offensive against the Governor, the student body in a statement today stated that the Governor do not have the best interest of the people in mind and instead trying to soothe the hurt sentiments of the people has imposed a perpetual curfew the voice of the people.
MSF added the Governor has failed to convey the sentiments of the people to the Centre and highlight the truce picture to New Delhi.
Reiterating that the MSF has already set June 30 as the deadline for the MLAs to come out with their final decision, the statement said the MLAs would be banished if they fail to meet the deadline.
The statement accused the State political leaders especially the MLAs of selling out the dignity and honour of the people by constantly going to power and begging the Centre to let them occupy the seat of power.
All these factors led to the loss of face of the entire people of the State, said the statement.
Taking strong exception with the condescending attitude of the Central leaders, MSF said no Union ministers would be allowed to set foot on the soil of Manipur.
The student body said that if the warning is not heeded then they would not be responsible for any untoward incident.
