The ongoing operations against insurgent outfits operating in Manipur code-named �All clear Operation� will be further intensified.
A decision to this effect was adopted in the meeting of the Special Operation Group (SOG) convened today and presided by the SOG�s Chairman Jarnail Singh, who is also the State chief Secretary.
Top officials of the State Police Department, Army, CRPF, BSF and Intelligence agencies are reported to have taken part in the deliberation where the discussions centered on revision of performance of the ongoing counter-insurgency operations.
With the completion of troops deployment and substantial progress in area domination pursued at Bishnupur and Churachandpur district areas the meeting also discussed on intensifying the �All clear Operation�.
According to sources, the Army authorities are said to have placed demands for better drinking water, electricity and telephone facilities.
Besides stressing on enhanced cooperation among security forces operating in Manipur, the meeting also fixed October 25 for the next meeting of the top security establishment officials.
For maximum effect of the ongoing operation and for utilization in emergency situation, six Army helicopters have been stationed at the Leimakhong Army headquarters, said the source adding issues like strength of security personnel for the counter-insurgency operations also figured prominently at the meeting.
Bomb blast: Suspected underground activists triggered a bomb blast at a spot located between Moreh College and Forests Gate at around 2 pm today.
The bomb is said to have been planted to target a patrol party of the 37 Assam rifles.
No AR personnel sustained injury in the blast.
