Speaking at the inaugural function, village head- man C Atmos said that the name of the village Lemba literally means majestic and added that this name was given by Maharaja Churachand in recognition of the special features of the village.
Before this name was given, the village was known as Khoribok, added the headman.
As is the tale with any village located away from the attention of the Govt, it has bee the onus of the villagers to build their own Church, maintain their own roads as well as build their community hall.
Till date no MLA from the Constituency has ever given any help to the villagers, said the village headman.
