Truck substantially damaged in bomb attack

Ukhrul, April 11 2022:
Armed militants substantially damaged a timber loaded truck at Namlee village under Kasom Khullen block, Kamjong yesterday in between Namlee and Wangli village.
According to sources from the area, the incident occured yesterday at about 8.30 am just 2 kms away from Namlee police outpost.
It is informed that as the timber carrying truck stopped due to a mechanical failure, 10 persons armed with sophisticated weapons surrounded the grounded vehicle and asked the truck driver and second driver to vacate from the area.
Then they planted high intensity bomb at the front portion of the truck and triggered the explosion destroying the whole front portion of the truck.

Following the explosion, police personnel at Namlee outpost along with officers of Kasom Khullen police station rushed to the spot to oversee the situation.
The truck was completely damaged but there is no report of any human casualty.
It might be mentioned that the area falls in between international border pillar (IBP) number 8 & 9 and shares the border with Myanmar villages like Mintah, Tungchao, Bantula etc.
Namlee is located about 40 kilometres away from Kasom Khullen block, Kamjong.
