MPCC alleges violation of Govt service rule

Imphal, April 11 2022:
A team of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Monday submitted memorandum to Governor La Ganesan and chief secretary demanding disciplinary action against DIPR APO (Press) Kishan Longjam for violating service rules by sending official invites to media houses for a programme held in connection with BJP's foundation day.
The memorandum said that the government offices and departments should not be part of political activities of political parties.
The memorandum was submitted to the Governor and chief secretary by an MPCC team comprising vice president L Tilotama; general secretaries S Jeeten; Amir Hussain; Wahidur Rahaman and social media chairperson Malemkhomba Salam.
Addressing the media after submitting the memorandum to the Governor at Raj Bhavan gate, L Tilotama recalled that the government had suspended a singer who was a government employee for singing in a political programme related to the election.
Similarly, APO Kishan signed an official invite and send out to media houses for a Mega Health Camp held on Sunday which was organised by BJP Bishnupur Mandal in connection with BJP's foundation day, which is very unfortunate.
Kishan is part of government machinery and should only work for government.
The invite sent by him under the influence of a political party violates Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules 1964.Therefore, appropriate action should be taken against him under Rule 5 sub-rule (1) of the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules 1964, she.

Tilotama further conveyed that the memorandum has been submitted to urge the Governor to ensure that no government machinery is used by a political party in future.
