Imphal, June 10 2019:
The State's lone LJP law maker and CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam has categorically stated that he would never join the fight for political leadership or Ministerial berths.
Speaking at a prize distribution ceremony of a tuition centre at Lilong Chajing Mamang Leikai today, Karam Shyam said that he would not be part of any crisis resulting from quest for political leadership.
He said that he would never support political manoeuvres driven by personal interests rather than collective interests of the State.
Shyam said that he would consult the people of Langthabal AC even if he must support any camp.

"I can give up everything if any change to the present political set-up would do good to the State.
I may or may not be a Minister and I may even pull out from the Government if the situation demands", he asserted.
Saying that he is undaunted by the fact that he is the lone LJP MLA in the ruling coalition, Shyam said that he is quite capable of explaining to the Central Government whether the political unrest seen in the State is reasonable or not.
A leader is someone chosen by the circumstances based on one's capabilities but leadership is not something which can be self-promoted, Shyam said.
He asserted that he would never join any camp engaged in fights for political leadership or Ministerial portfolios.
"I would help save the king rather than revolt against any king", he said.
Notably, the coalition Government led by Chief Minister N Biren is currently embroiled in a restive situation with some of the ruling MLAs suggesting change of leadership to BJP Central leaders.
Later, the CAF&PD Minister distributed prizes to students of Sapam Sajou Boarding Home and Tuition Centre who cleared the HSLC Exam.
