CM meets religious leaders, joint prayer lined up on Jun 7

Chief Minister N Biren Singh interacted with leaders of different religious organisations at the Chief Minister's Secretariat today and later it was agreed that a joint prayer of all religions to seek divine intervention to end COVID-19 and save everybody from the pandemic would also be held at the western gate of Kangla at 10 am on June 7 .
Public Health Engineering Minister L Dikho, CAF&PD Minister Th Satyabrata, MP Sanajaoba Leishemba, representatives from All Manipur Christian Organization, Sanamahi Temple Board, All Manipur Catholic Union, Govindajee Temple Board, Diocesan Social Service Society, Jamait-Ul-Ulama and other religious organisations of Islam faith attended the interaction session.
N Biren said that the Government has been putting in all possible efforts to ensure that nobody dies of COVID-19 in the State due to shortage of medicine, oxygen, equipment, manpower etc.

The Government is also trying hard to effectively implement the SOPs and create as much awareness about the pandemic as possible.
As such, the meeting has been called understanding the roles which religious bodies and leaders can play in sensitizing the public, the Chief Minister said.
They can contribute immensely in educating the masses not only on the importance of following the SOPs but also on the need for early detection of the disease through timely testing and early medication through vaccination.
He also observed that such awareness can be spread through Churches, Mosques and Temples.
Later, it was resolved in the meeting that religious bodies and leaders should take pro-active roles in spreading awareness.
A joint prayer of all religions to seek divine intervention to end COVID-19 and save everybody from the pandemic would also be held at the western gate of Kangla at 10 am on June 7.Apart from it, a mass prayer for the people of Christian faith will be held across the State on June 6.Similarly, mass prayer for Muslims and Hindus would be held on June 4 while the date for mass prayer of Sanamahi religion would be announced later.
Testing sites: The locality wise testing sites for aggressive mass testing in Imphal West district for tomorrow have been identified.
Th Kirankumar, Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West in a statement enlisted the identified testing sites as follows- Uchiwa Hiden Achouba Lampak at Uchiwa, Community Hall at Wangoi Makha Leikai, Lambal Primary School at Lambal Makha Leikai, RYDC Building at Lambal Awang Leikai, Panchayat Ghar at Khurkhul Makha Leikai, Community Hall at Khonghampat Awang Leikai, Jain Mandir at Paona Bazar, Community Hall at Keishamthong Hodam Leirak, Neinashang Club Community Hall at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, IWSC Community Hall at Khumbong, Nganuleima Youth Dev Community Hall at Khaidem, Meisnam Public High School at Kangmeng, Community Hall at Toubungkhok Awang Leikai, Ema Ningthileima Laibung at Toubungkhok and Community Hall at Toubungkhok Mayai Leikai.
Apart from the above testing sites, mobile testing sites for curfew violators will be decided in consultation with CMO of Imphal West and SP of Imphal West respectively.
