MLA's workers accused of attacking rival's supporters

Imphal, December 25 2021: Workers of intending candidate in Keirao A/C Toijam Debananda were alleged attacked with slingshots by workers of MLA L Rameshwor on Saturday.

One of the workers of Debananda reportedly sustained injuries in the attack.

Speaking to media persons in this regard at the residence of Toijam Debananda located at Kyamgei Khoirom Leikai, Toijam Tampha, a family member of the intending candidate narrated that the attack occurred on Saturday evening at Ngariyan Keithel.

Debananda's workers were returning from a Christmas gift presentation programme held at Lemba Khun under Keirao A/C, when workers of MLA Rameshwor attacked using slingshot at the passing vehicle, injuring one worker and causing damage to the vehicle, she conveyed.

Tampha said such act is against democracy and further appealed for free and fair election.
