Ex-MLA of Kshetrigao assembly constituency Md Amin'Shah has slammed the BJP-led government for not repealing AFSPA from the state despite its tall claims of improvement in law-and-order situation under its stint.
Addressing a one-day political conference organised by Kshetrigao Block Manila Congress Committee at Kshetri Bengoon Awang Leikai on Saturday, Amin Shah reminded that that then Congress government withdrew AFSPA from seven assembly segments in Imphal city.
Today, the whole northeast states are demanding to repeal the Act and governments of different northeast states have passed resolutions for the same.
However, the BJP-led government, which boasts of improving law and order situation in the state, is still in favour of imposing the draconian law, he alleged.
Regarding the achievements claimed by BJP government, he said that all those projects were initiated by the Congress government and the Biren government is not seeking credits.
He also criticised the BJP government for failing to provide jobs to the educated youth of the state and dubbed the Go to Village and Go to Hills, as propaganda tools of BJP.
The ex-MLA revealed that the election manifesto of Congress party will reflect women empowerment and secularism among other issues unlike BJP, which stands for a particular religion.
