Meet-up session of state election icon held

Imphal, December 25 2021:
The Office of Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur on Sunday held a meet-up session of State Election Icon with the winners of the online contest at Hotel Classic here.
Speaking at the event, joint CEO (II) Md S Daulat Khan expressed that activities such as 'Meet the Icon' is part of a larger campaign to spread messages related to the electoral processes and the importance of citizens' participation in the electoral journey.
While noting that social media is one of the most effective forms of media for the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, he stated that 'Meet the Icon' online contest will continue with other state Icons and appealed to all to participate in such activities.
Daulat Khan further highlighted the various apps such as Voter Helpline App, c-Vigil Mobile App, Persons with Disabilities App, Voter Turnout App and Booth App, among others.
The online contest titled 'Meet the Icon' was conducted on social media platforms where participants were asked to share their views on the question 'What does being a responsible voter mean to you?', he informed.
Among hundreds of responses, six winners were selected.
There were two more winners who were adjudged as the CEO's pick.
During Sunday's session, the winners interacted with the State Election Icon AJ Maisnam.
He has been featured extensively in multimedia publicity campaigns of the office of the CEO, Manipur.
The meet-up session was also broadcast live on social media pages of the state election office.
An Election Trivia Quiz was also conducted and the winners presented CEO merchandise and other collectibles.
Manipur joint CEO Ramananda Nongmeikapam, State Nodal Officer (media) W Phajatombi Devi and offcials concerned were also present on the occasion.
