N Rohit murder case : Six remanded to police custody

The Duty Magistrate, Thoubal on Sa-turday remanded the six per- sons including the younger brother of Heirok BJP MLA who were arrested on the charge of murdering a 21 years old student to 11 days police custody till January 4, 2022 .
Accused Thokchom Hen-rik alias Naobi Singh (29), s/o Th Ibosana Singh of Heirok Part I Mayai Leikai, Khundongbam Nicky alias Anju Singh (33), s/o Kh Raghuchandra Singh of Heirok Part II Mayai Leikai; Laishram Biken Singh (23), s/o L Bimol Singh of Heirok Part II Mayai Leikai; Thokchom Bishworjit alias Putro Singh (40), s/o Th Ibochouba Singh of Heirok Part II Thokchom Leikai; Ningthoujam Panan Singh (30), s/o N Muhindro Singh of Heirok Part III Tourang-bam Leikai and Thokchom Sanathoi alias Lai Singh (34), s/o Th Dijen alias Lakpati Singh of Heirok Part II Mayai Leikai were produced before the Duty Magistrate, Thoubal along with a prayer for remanding them to police custody for 10 days for smooth investigation of the case.
The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded them to 11 days police custody till January 4, 2022.The six accused were arrested yesterday by the Special Investigation Team constituted in connection with the murder of Ning-thoujam Rohit in the wee hours of December 22.Ningthojam Rohit, s/o Premchandra of Heirok Part II Mayai Leikai was reportedly shot dead by a group of armed miscreants who barged into his house on December 22 last.
Father of the deceased student, Ningthoujam Premchand also sustained bullet wounds in the attack and he is undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity.
