Smile Project's Covid relief drive continues at Senapati district

Senapati, July 19 2021:
The Smile Project team successfully completed the second Covid relief drive at Senapati district on July 17 and 18.About 250 beneficiaries from 13 villages in the district benefited from the project in the second drive.
The Covid relief was initiated by the Smile Project Team in July to reach out to the villagers who are in need of provisions due to pandemic lockdown.
A total of about 315 households from 18 villages have benefited from the project.
It may be mentioned that PHE Minister, L Dikho financially assisted in the transportation of the Covid relief kits from Assam to Manipur.
The Covid relief kits were donated to the Smile project through the North East AID, Assam by Crypto Relief India.
Each ration kit consisted of 2.5kg of mixed dal, 1kg of sugar, 10kg of rice, sanitary napkins, 200gms of Haldi, 1 packets of biscuit, 200gm lal mirch, dania powder, 1kg daliya, 1 kg salt, 1 kg of poha, 200gms of tea and 100 gms of cumin.
The relief was successfully distributed among the 13 villages with the help of A Kapani, Chairman ADC, Senapati and Adani Joseph, former President ANSAM.
Logistics from Assam to Manipur was arranged by Ashihrii Elow Basete and Matini Chajete, SI, Railway Protection Force, Assam.
Youth representatives of the 13 villages assisted the team in distributing the covid relief.
NSS volunteers from Asufii Christian Institute also helped with the distribution.
The villages which benefited from the Covid relief are Emepfiithu, Makhan Lovadziingho, Makhan Center, Makhan Khullen, New Makhan, Maopungdung, Makhan Khuman, Chakumei, Khriidziiphi, Chowainamei Khullen, Chowainamei Khunou, Punanamei and Robunamei in Senapati district.
In the last two months, the Smile Project team has reached 315 households by providing ration kits to those families in need during this pandemic.
The Smile Project was a personal project founded in 2019 by Loli Kaikho Shenachete from Kalinamai village.
He is a social worker with MSW from Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Tamil Nadu.
It was founded with an initiative to help the needy and poor in cash or kind just to spread smiles.
The humble project has assisted in school admission of 5 students from donations through well-wishers in 2019.Loli Kaikho Shenachete had also started a fund drive in June to reach out to the people most affected by the pandemic.
Through which, 65 villagers from five villages - Kalinamai, Phikomai, Song Song, Pudunamai and Chowainu village were provided assistance.
This is the second covid relief drive through his project.
