Ration items distributed, awareness prog conducted

Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector/IGAR (E) distributed essential items including rice, wheat, pulse, sugar and eggs to students of the Mother Care Hostel Orphanage at Paomata centre on Monday.
According to an AR statement, during the hard times of Covid-19 pandemic and continuous lockdown/curfews in the area, the orphanage was facing criticality in terms of rations and other expenses.
Village authorities, orphanage and youth associations approached Assam Rifles camp at T Khullen for the assistance.
Company commander assured them to provide necessary assistance and that the battalion will work with the locals to maintain peace and harmony in the area.
An interaction was also car ried out with the members, residents of the Mother Care Orphanage & villagers and conveyed the Independence Day wishes to them.
On the other-hand, Khoupum Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted a Covid awareness cum vaccination drive in collaboration with PHC Khoupum Valley at Khoupum on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR(S), the drive was organised with an aim to combat the Covid resurgence.
The drive included lectures on Covid appropriate behaviour and importance of vaccination to fight against the pandemic.
Total of 30 villagers of Khoupum Valley were administered Covid vaccine by the medical team of Assam Rifles during the drive, it added.
