2 more die of COVID-19 in Kpi; curfew on in full swing

Kangpokpi, July 19 2021:
The Statewide 10 days curfew was in full swing on the second day in Kangpokpi as police mended the highway and monitored the movement of persons except the exempted activities.
Kangpokpi town was seen completely deserted as the local bodies under the aegis of Kangpokpi Town Committee went on an extensive publicity via PA system yesterday night in the whole of Kangpokpi town notifying the general populace to obey the Government order and avoid venturing out from their home during the curfew.
Meanwhile, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Kangpokpi has climbed to 49 with two more people succumbing to the disease while another 21 positive cases were reported today.
As per a report from JNIMS Hospital, a 55 years old man, Mangthang from Saparmeina Kangpokpi expired this morning at 2:15 am while according to another report from RIMS Hospital Imphal, a 32 years old woman from Kangpokpi Ward No 11 succumbed to the dreaded COVID-19 this morning at around 1:52 am.
Moreover, many positive cases were detected again in Kangpokpi town and Keithelmanbi while carrying out contact tracing by the Medical Department in collaboration with the concerned COVID Task Force.
Besides, mass vaccination was also organised at Tokpa Nepali village by the Medical Department under the supervision of Dr Pilhing, MO PHC Kalapahar in collaboration with CTF Santolabari Parsian and AMGSU Santolabari Parsain unit.
Around 108 persons are vaccinated during the drive.
Interestingly, a differently abled person opened the vaccination drive and gave a good example to the able and healthy persons who are hesitating to get themselves vaccinated.
With the vaccination drive at Tokpa Nepali today, the village is now 99% vaccinated.
