COVID 19 precaution: Lockdown at Ukhrul Town ; CCpur up the ante on restriction

Ukhrul, March 21 2020:
Following to the advisory order issued by the State Government, the CEO of Ukhrul Autonomous District Council, Polly Makan today declared five days lockdown of Ukhrul Town as precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the district.
As per the order, commercial areas of the Ukhrul Town such as Ava market, vendors, all shops and establishment selling non- essential commodities would remain shut for five days with immediate effect from today till March 25 .
Police Department also took out a publicity campaign to inform the populace of Ukhrul of order.
Though commercial areas would remain shut for five days, groceries shops in every locality would be opened on a rotational basis to meet the demand of essential commodities.
To ease the fear of the public on sudden lockdown of the town, the police announced that the measure was taken up to prevent spreading of COVID-19 in the district.
Later, after the wide publicity, folks of the Ukhrul Town were seen hurrying for purchasing essentials commodities.
Ukhrul wore a deserted look with the enforcement of lockdown since noon.
And in the meantime, a co-ordination meeting of Tangkhul social organizations leaders was held today at TNL office, chaired by TNL president Hopingson about the pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 for ensuring the safety and well being of the populace.
The meeting discussed ways to co-ordinate with the district Health Department and District Administration in case of any emergency.
CCpur: Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Churachandpur has strengthened his previously issued public health order with additional mandatory closures and guidelines to stem the spread of COVID-19.A couple of new orders issued by the Pawan Yadav, DC Churachandpur prohibits gatherings of more than 30 people on unavoidable religious family gathering even as it announces the closure of all restaurants, eating joints, conference halls, community halls, tourist and picnic spots, all shopping malls or sections of the mall except those selling groceries and vegetables.
The order indicates that it will be effective henceforth, but does not made mention on how long the order will be effective.
Another circular issued by Pawan also appealed the public of Churachandpur to stay indoor and follow 'Janata Curfew' announced by the Prime Minister to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19 .
