Matric Exam 2015: Govt.schools come a cropper

Imphal, May 16 2015 :
Seventy Government-run schools and 23 Government-aided schools in Manipur registered zero pass percentage in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2015 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) .
Results of the Class 10 exam 2015 were declared on May 14.BOSEM pegged the pass percentage at 61.52 .
Also last year, 48 public schools and 13 Government-aided schools recorded zero pass percentage.
It has been figured out that the failure percentage for the Government schools, Government aided-schools and private schools in the State has increased this year .
In all, 7,233 students from 323 Government schools appeared in the HSLC exam 2014 .
A total of 2,826 got through it.
The pass percentage was 39.07 .
Netaji High School, Jiribam, Parbung High School, Eastern High School, Akampat, Ch Iboyaima High School, Khonghampat High School, Lilasing Khongnagkhong High School, N Tomchou Higher Secondary School, Mayang Imphal, Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School are among the Government-run schools which had registered zero pass of the examinees this year.
But one bright student from Jiribam Higher Secondary School was the saving grace for the Government schools by securing the eighth position in the Class 10 exam.
All candidates from 23 Government-aided schools failed in the exam.
A total of 1,869 students from 86 aided schools appeared in the exam.
Only 735 students were able to get through it.
The pass percentage was 39.33 .
Altogether 25,358 students from 571 private schools appeared in the Class 10 exam 2015.Out of this, 14 schools failed to have even a single successful student.
In total, 1,7664 students passed.
The pass percentage was 75.04 .
