Imphal, May 16 2015 :
The underground United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has strongly refuted the charges levelled against the outfit by the KNLF.
'The so-called KNLF Semol Camp commander Laldenga's allegation about UKLF working together with 6th Dogra in favour of BJP in the ensuing ADC election is ridiculous as it is completely baseless, childish and immature,' said a statement issued by MP Haokip, information and publicity secretary of UKLF.
The allegation clearly reflects low level of understanding/awareness and characters on the part of KNLF as well as its workers, said the statement.
UKLF is a revolutionary organization dedicated to the causes of the people and the land and hence no question of tying up with any political party or security forces on petty issues like ADC election, it said.
Besides, UKLF considered the whole Kuki inhabited areas of Manipur or elsewhere as Kuki-land and there is no point of taking over a certain village or two as alleged by the so-called KNLF and some of its helpers.
"Collection of 50% annual paddy produces, force grabbing of 50% land of two villages or killing of Seijang or Tiljang as alleged are nothing but a cook-up stories diabolically intended to tarnish the image of UKLF and the people should be aware of this kind of foolish utterances in future too," it added.
In fact, it was 6th Dogra Regiment under the command of former DIG 26 Sector AR Rajeev Mankotia, who was instrumental in setting up of the so-called KNLF Semol camp against the genuine wishes of the peace loving people of Khengjoi subdivision of Dingpi area in spite of all those public outcry and protests at that time.
Now it is the same 6th Dogra which shifted KNLF away from Semol village and they must have had a reason in doing that, it said.
The UKLF too had objected to the KNLF Semol camp right from the beginning as it happens to be located just seven kilometre from UKLF designated camp Nazareth at Khangbarol village.
It's a well-known fact that the so-called KNLF are nothing but UNLF deserters who surrendered to the Government on Sept 9, 2013 at Imphal and their weapons deposited therein.
But, instead of sending them home with proper rehabilitation packages at that time, why did the Govt agencies stationed them at Semol village within seven kilometre radius of UKLF designated Camp Nazareth, it asked.
Now that, apart from the local population of Chehlep area ,the so-called KNLF are denied even by their fellow KNO groups at Hermon Camp, so it will best if they are relocated somewhere outside Chandel district in the interest of the general public.
