SFs arrival fails to check bomb attacks

Even as 6 companies of security forces from Mizoram arrived today, two powerful bombs exploded near the polling camp of Congress located at Wangoo under Thoubal district while another powerful bomb went off at Yumnam Leikai but there were no casualties.
CorCom has claimed responsibility for the Yumnam Leikai blast.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, CEO PC Lawmkunga said that after 200 companies of security force arrived yesterday, another 6 companiey arrived from Mizoram today.
Fifty more Central Para-Military Forces will arrive tomorrow, he informed and added that another 100 companies of CPMF are expected to arrive on January 24. Police sources said that the bombs exploded at around 6.40 pm near the temporary polling camps of Congress located at the inter village road of Wangoo Sandangkhong in Sugnu AC under Thoubal district.
Two powerful bombs were exploded subsequently but there were no casualties reported from the incident, police added.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Wangoo blast incident, another powerful bomb has been exploded at Nambul Mapan area of Yumnam Leikai today around 5.50 pm.
Sources from the spot said that the bomb went off at the Nambul river bank nearbythe residence of one Lourembam Nabachandra (60), a trader.
The shrapnels of the blast damaged one Hyundai i10 car and the back window of Nabachandra's house.
Police has launched a search operation in Yumnam Laikai Nambul Mapan area.
