Death count continues with Manipur reporting two more deaths in the last 24 hours even as the State logged only 20 new Covid cases.
On August 6, Manipur had reported three deaths.
The cumulative number of deaths has now reached 2138.The two deceased persons, from Senapati and Imphal West, suffered from co-morbidities and they had taken both doses of the vaccine, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting a report from the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
The 20 new eases, all civilians, were confirmed during testing at RIMS (3), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (16).They were confirmed out of 297 samples tested to take the single day positivity rate to 6.7 percent.
The positive cases are from Imphal East (6), Imphal West (6), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
On the other hand, 39 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (37), RIMS (1) and JNIMS (1) .
The recovery rate is 98.28 percent.
The number of active cases is 255 including 4 Central security personnel.
Out of the total 38 Covid beds at JNIMS, 11 are occupied with 27 beds being vacant while at RIMS out of 62 beds, 21 are occupied.
Forty one beds are unoccupied.
On August 6, 2849 vaccine doses were administered taking the total number of doses administered to 31,32,532 including 12,92,315 second dose and 2,18,237 precautionary dose.
Overall 54.13 percent of the eligible population have received the second dose while 62.24 percent have received the first dose.
