Milk van torched, watchman saves Tamenglong office

Unknown mis creants on Saturday evening set on fire an ECCO Van used for delivering milk at Salam Mamang Leikai under Patsoi Police Station.
According to a police report, the ill-fated vehicle (MN 01A G 3666) belonged to one Gangoulen of Saheibung village.
The incident occurred at around 10.30 pm Saturday when Gangoulen, his mother and another person were on their way back to the village after delivering milk at Langol.
They were then pursued by some unknown people in an Eon car.
When they reached Salam Mamang Leikai area, the car cut them off and forced all three occupants to alight from the van before setting it on fire.
As per the statements of the victims, the Eon Car was driven by three masked men.
However, they failed to get the registration number of the vehicle.
Patsoi police station has registered a case in this regard and an investigation has been launched.
Meanwhile, an alert watchman prevented an arson attack by unknown miscreants on the Mini Secretariat, Tamenglong on Sunday.
According to reports, at around 8:30 pm, some miscreants tried to burn the Mini Secretariat office but it was thwarted by the watchman posted there on duty.
A large number of people attempted to set fire on different parts of the secretariat office building but the watchman confronted them and was able to douse the fire.
