MLA Loken eyes development of Eco tourism park

Wangoi MLA Kh Loken has said that Heiningkhoi Pukhri (pond) Achouba located near Thongkhong Laxmi bazar under Wangoi assembly constituency will be developed as Eco tourism park in view of increasing number of tourists visiting the state following improvement in law-and-order situation.
After inspecting the pond and its surrounding and assessing its feasibility for developing as an Eco tourism park on Saturday, MLA Loken told media persons that Hein-ingkhoi Pukhri Achouba has been a resting place for local people since his childhood days and wanted to develop it as a recreational place for people including elderly ones.
In view of chief minister N Biren Singh's announcement that one tourist spot each in every constituency of the state will be developed, there is possibility of setting up an Eco tourism park at Heiningkhoi Pukhri Achouba, he said, adding that he expects the chief minister to visit Heiningkhoi Pukhri Achouba and inspect for developing it as a tourist attraction site.
According to MLA Loken, he has been cleansing the pond every year even before becoming MLA and the pond is very suitable for developing as a tourist site as it is not far from Mayai Lambi road and environment friendly.
A DPR for developing the pond will be made soon and discuss the same with the chief minister for procuring the required fund from the Centre, he added.
While stating that Mayai Lambi road is too narrow and widening or the road is very important to accommodate increasing traffic volume, MLA Loken urged the government to take up steps for widening the road at the earliest.
He also promised to take up development activities in Wangoi AC with his LAD fund and first instalment of Rs 32 lakh has been released.
