Winners of Miss Shirui Lily yet to receive cash prizes

It's been months since the Miss Shirui Lily 2022 was held at Heritage Centre at Vangayan Shirui Village but none of the winners have allegedly been given the cash prizes of the beauty pageant till date.

Ukhrul was crowned Miss Shirui Lily 2022 while RH Dorina and Dorothy Maram were adjudged the first and second runner-up in the first edition of Miss Shirui Lily organised by the 7 Sisters Foundation under the Shirui Lily State Festival Entertainment Sub-committee.
The beauty contest was christened Miss Spring in the first three editions of Shirui Lily Festival.
Levin Luithui walked away with a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh while Miss Dorina and Miss Maram were assured a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and 1 lakh respectively.
The nine other titles (Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Beauty with Brain, Miss Popularity, Miss Congeniality, Miss Perfect Body, Miss Active, Miss Photogenic, Miss Catwalk and Miss Model), on the other hand, carried a cash award of Rs 30,000 each but the cash prizes of some are yet to be given to the winners.
Reportedly, some of the winners of the beauty pageant and Shirock 2022 organised by Manipur Tourism Department have expressed their discontentment over the conduct of the events.
This correspondent interacted with some of the title holders of Miss Shirui Lily-2022 .
According to them, the organiser 7 Sisters Foundation requested the title holders to wait for two weeks to transfer the prize money in their personal accounts.
Despite the assurance, the organiser is yet to transfer the cash prizes till date, they claimed.
"Whenever, we enquired or approached the organiser on different occasions their responses were not satisfactory and they bluntly blamed the Tourism Department for the delay in releasing the cash prizes," they claimed and added that the title holders have resolved to expose the deceitful promises of the organising committee through social media platforms.
According to an order issued by the Directorate of Tourism Department, the total budget for organising the 4th Shirui Lily Festival was Rs 4.5 crore out of which Rs.3.5 crore was released by the Government in two instalments (40% and 60% respectively) and the corresponding amount was released to different sub-committees, departments, firms and others on May 21 and July 18, 2022 respectively.
The total amount allocated for the Entertainment SubCommittee was Rs one crore fifty five lakh, fifty five thousand and five hundred and fifty five and the same has reportedly been released to Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul.
