Railway Minister to visit Manipur soon

Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will visit Manipur either in the last week of March or first week of April for direct assessment of the railway line construction work.
BJP State unit secretary M Ashnikumar and party president Th Chaoba called on Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu at Delhi today.
During the brief meeting, Suresh Prabhu stated that he will visit Manipur for two days either in the last week of March or first week of April in order to collect a first hand account of the ongoing railway line construction work.
Pointing out that survey for railway connectivity between Imphal and Moreh has been completed, Chaoba and Ashnikumar urged the Union Minister to take up Imphal-Moreh railway project as soon as possible.
They also proposed construction of ropeways at Noney and Tupul.
They raised another proposal for opening a sub-divisional head office of Indian Railways at Imphal in the interest of the unemployed youth of Manipur.

After listening to all their proposals, Suresh Prabhu pledged to translate maximum of the proposals into action, conveyed Ashnikumar.
Later in the afternoon, Chaoba and Ashnikumar called on Union Minister of Finance and Information Arun Jaitely and Union Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal.
The two BJP leaders from the State urged the Union Ministers to extend banking facilities to rural and hill areas of Manipur.
They suggested the Union Ministers to implement inclusive financial planning specially in rural and hill areas.
The duo also drew attention of the Union Ministers to direct Nationalised banks against indulging in undue delaying tactics while distributing PMEGP loans to beneficiaries of Manipur.
They further lobbied for opening more FM channels and establishment of media and journalism institutions in Manipur.
At the end of the meeting, Chaoba and Ashnikumar were assured that all their proposals would be considered positively.
Meanwhile, Adhikarimayum Sarda who has been recently elected BJP Mahila Morcha National Vice-President pledged to put in her best efforts to inform the people of Manipur about the numerous women-specific programmes and policies being initiated by the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah.
She said that she would contribute all her might towards making Narendra Modi's campaign to check female foeticide in the country a success.
BJP State unit Mahila Morcha would work at its best level to create extensive awareness in every nook and corner of the State about all the welfare schemes and development programmes taken up by Modi Government.
All are welcomed to the BJP State unit office to obtain details about different schemes taken up by the Government of India, Sarda said.
She also called upon all the citizens to stand and fight collectively against all forms of violence on women and children.
